In case you were not previously aware, pointless questions are getting canned. Seriously, it's great to have all you new people here and everything, but it's terribly apparent that very few of you actually think before typing. I mean seriously "I'm hungry, I'm going to have toast, what's your favourite toast topping?" is worthless. The idea of AMA is not that you post every pointless thought that enters your head, barely pausing to find a question mark to stick onto the end of it. So seriously. If you don't think before you post, and at least try to ask something insightful or interesting, then don't whine to me if your question vanishes without a trace. If you need help with working out what constitutes a good question, look back at entries by people like apricotica, sundry_pieces, and the like. These people do not post crap. We have enough interesting material that we don't need the pointless filler. So I'm asking you to knock it off.

Questions posted to the community that are often seen as unnecessary are the ones where people ask something just for the sake of 50 people replying and filling their inbox (i.e. the toast question). That sort of thing doesn't encourage debate, or discussion, and nobody learns anything about anyone.

Here are some questions that are frequently asked on ama. These questions are not only asked repeatedly, but are also dull and unoriginal. Please avoid the following:

A: We all lost our virginity at 13 because we're all a bunch of kinky sluts. Except for directordale. Or annemarie.
2. What is your favorite website?
A: LiveJournal, obviously. Otherwise we wouldn't be wasting our time answering silly questions.
3. What is your guilty pleasure?
A: Taking a shit on people's chests. Always.
4. What are you most excited about/looking forward to right now.
A: Why don't you just post in ama-offtopic about what you're excited about and stop wasting time.
5. Are you missing someone?
A: No, you are the only person in the history of the earth to miss anyone. Congratulations.
6. How many people have you slept with?
A: We've all slept with each other because as I said earlier, we're a bunch of kinky sluts.
7. What is the worst word in the English language?
A: "Moist." Okay? MOIST. We ALL agree with you that MOIST is repulsive. Stop looking for confirmation.
8. What is your favorite color?
A: Do you really care? What could you possibly do with this knowledge?
9. How tall are you?
A: Unless you are Yao Ming, this has no relevance to anything.
10. What do you do when you are bored/need cheering up?
A: Cute Overload
11. Have you ever cheated on your SO?
A: Yes. Again, we are incapable of keeping our pants on, but despite this fact none of these answers will ease your guilt.
12. What did you have for breakfast/lunch/dinner?
A: These answers will not make you less hungry, I guarantee it.
13. Where did your username come from?
A: Something relatively significant to each individual.
14. Have you ever gotten a Brazilian wax? How was it?
A: You're having thousands of hairs ripped out of your body. How do you think it was?
15. Do you have any irrational fears? What are they?
A: Even though you say irrational in the question, people will ignore this and put down normal fears. Except for Carrie, who, it has been established, is afraid of Winona Ryder.
16. When is your birthday?
A: Check out the AMA birthday calendar so you can send us gifts. But honestly, are you really going to send cards to every member on their birthday? Really?
17. OMG DO YOU LOVE THIS COMMUNITY?
